To All Those That Dawn Before Us.
To All Those That Dawn Before Us.
A tribute to those who came before us,
those who continue to light our path,
and those who have passed,
as the early sun rises we continue to feel their daily presence.
I wanted to create a painting that would combine both paint and porcelain- with an aim for them to sit cohesively together, one couldn’t be stronger than the other, there had to be unity between the two.
Blending many layers of paint to capture dawn, I kept going until I felt I had a balance- a reflective and peaceful light for the porcelain flowers to sit upon.
What I have noticed is, as the day goes on, the painting seems to change in colour, and when the sun shines, it catches the porcelain and casts beautiful flower shadows.
