Floral Ripples is a handcrafted porcelain wall sculpture inspired by the gentle movement of flowers swaying in the breeze. Observing the ever-changing rhythm of my garden, I sought to capture a fleeting moment where petals, light and wind merge into a quiet sense of movement.
At the heart of the sculpture are delicately modelled white glazed porcelain flowers, including peonies, each individually sculpted by hand. Surrounding them, layers of hand-formed porcelain elements are enhanced with subtle blush and soft grey pigments, creating flowing ripples that radiate across the surface. These rhythmic layers evoke the movement of air through a flowering garden, drawing the eye around the composition and giving the piece a sense of gentle motion.
Every porcelain element is individually shaped, refined before being and kiln-fired. The contrast between the luminous glazed flowers and the softly pigmented matte porcelain creates depth, texture and a quiet interplay of light and shadow that changes throughout the day.
Both sculptural and serene, Floral Ripples celebrates the beauty of nature's fleeting moments while transforming them into a timeless contemporary artwork. Designed to be appreciated from every angle, the sculpture brings elegance, texture and a sense of calm to contemporary interiors.
Framed in soft mid grey -Purbeck Stone, complete with hardware for hanging.
